Photosynthetic gorgonians are really beautiful corals that get most of their energy from light. They need moderate to strong lighting, so think about where you place them in your tank. They also appreciate good water flow to help them shed old tissue and keep detritus from settling on them. Stable water parameters are key, just like with most corals: temperature around 72-78°F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. While they get energy from light, occasional supplemental feeding with fine particulate foods can also be beneficial.
